A beautiful wine made from Corvina and Merlot grapes which have been semi dried in wooden creates, Appassimento. During this process the grapes will loose 50% of their original weight in water, thus concentrating the colour, aromas and flavour of the wine. The two wines ae then blended together in February after the vintage, with 50% of the wine being aged in first and second uses American and French barriques for 12 months. The wine has a lovely and intense ruby-red color with a bouquet reminiscent of cherries, dried fruit, chocolate and prunes. On the palate it is full-bodied, soft and round, with a pleasant spiciness and an amazingly long and lingering finish.

This ruby red wine has an intense aroma that is the hints of violets. Placido Chianti is dry and well balanced with black-fruit flavors followed by a long finish. Excellent food pairing would be with meats, pastas and spicy foods. Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Canaiolo Nero
